Construction, Infrastructure & Non-Metallic Reinforcement
Experience from projects involving carbon concrete, textile reinforcement, and GFRP, carbon fibre, and basalt reinforcement in new construction, rehabilitation, precast concrete production, and infrastructure applications. Today, rothycon supports clients with technical assessment, project structuring, testing programmes, approval strategies, and the implementation of non-metallic reinforcement solutions.
- Non-metallic reinforcement for new construction, existing structures, infrastructure, and serial production
- Carbon concrete, textile grids, rebars, shaped components, short fibres, and TECBAR
- Technical evaluation, testing programmes, documentation, and approval strategies
- Selected project references: Naila Arch Bridge, Uelzen Sugar Silo, Starzenbach Culvert in Feldafing, Hypar Shell Magdeburg, U5 Berlin, Berlin University of the Arts, House of World Cultures Berlin, Mattensteg Zurich, HERING Platform Systems, Deutsche Bahn Cable Duct Covers, and Klaus Köhler Beton
Machinery Development & Technical Textiles
- Biaxial warp knitting machine with zero-waste weft insertion for processing carbon, glass, basalt, aramid, and other high-performance fibres
- Development of carbon grid structures without unnecessary material waste
- Development of a warp knitting machine for the production of webbing net structures
- SITnet cargo securing net, awarded the Techtextil Innovation Award 2017
- Contribution to the further development of double needle bar warp knitting machines within the COMEZ environment
- Machinery and process development for technical textiles, fibre composites, and industrial applications
Warp Knitting, CAD & Digital Process Chains
Idea and Co-Development of an Early CAD System for Warp Knitting with Real Material Simulation and an Integrated Digital Process Chain
Development and co-creation of an early CAD system for warp knitting featuring real material simulation and a fully integrated digital workflow. As early as 2005, a single central dataset was used to control machines in Germany and Asia while connecting ERP systems, order processing, and cost calculation.
- CAD-supported development of warp-knitted textiles with real material simulation
- Central data model for product development, machine control, ERP integration, costing, and order processing
- Direct machine control from CAD data in Germany and China/Asia
- Collaboration within the network of Texion, EAT, LIBA, and KARL MAYER
- Supervision of diploma theses and project work in warp knitting, CAD systems, and textile structure development
- Training programs in warp knitting technology, fabric construction, machine technology, and digital interfaces
